1. Viseu Cathedral (Sé Catedral de Viseu)
The cathedral from the 13th century is one of the oldest monuments in the district. 3. Our Lady of Mercy Church ( Igreja da Misericórdia )
This church was built in the Rococo style and is situated on an elevated position above more or a graveyard. Visitors here can enjoy an amazing view of the landscape below. This church was built in the eighteenth century and its architecture resembles a traditional castle . It is made with traditional white walls, graceful bell tower and well -worked features on the front and inside.
5. Hot springs in Sao Pedro do Sul ( Termas de São Pedro do Sul )
This is where visitors will be able to enjoy true peace. Today this place is equipped with modern equipment and many outbuildings. This place is a famous destination for the treatment of diseases - rheumatism , skin diseases , and many more , as well as the perfect setting to enjoy the beauty of nature.
2. Grao Vasco Museum ( Museu Grão Vasco)
This museum is located next to the cathedral. It accommodates the famous altars and other works of renowned artists Vasco Fernandes, one of the best Portuguese Renaissance painters, known under the pseudonym Grao Vasco . The Museum also contains a fine collection of carved and painted baroque figurines and other religious objects. Entrance to the museum is free on Sundays in the morning.
4. Museum of Mercy ( Museu da Misericórdia )
Museum of Mercy is located next to the Church of Our Lady . This museum is worth the post office, if only because the upper corridor linking the museum and which offers a magnificent view of the church. The museum is located on both sides of the church, and contain a rich exhibition of oil paintings and religious artifacts. Some pictures show religious scenes and portraits of other church benefactors.
Its rich history is a reason which is why in this area there are many historical buildings and monuments. That's why this city is a very popular tourist locations in this part of Portugal.
