1. Notre-Dame church
Notre-Dame church was built in XIIth century. The choir dates from the mid sixteenth century and the nave from eighteen century. The main artifacts are the statue of St. Peter, the baptismal font, the altarpiece and tombstone of Louise Delaunay from 1580. On the right side of the church is the corridor which is connected it with the castle. It was used to allow lords to come to church without need to leave their homes. At the beginning there were four bells on the tower. Today, there are three bells.
3. Old Laundry
The laundry has not been located at this location. It was located on the railway line Paris-Rivecourt, proposed in 1901 but never completed, The laundry was moved in 1912 by the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer du Nord.
5. Metal pavilions
This group of individual houses was built between 1969 and 1972 and they are the work of architect Marcel Lods, a pioneer of experimental prefabrication. They mix concrete, glass, steel and aluminum. These three hundred houses, ranging from 4 to 6 rooms, are surrounded by a large landscaped green space with lined squares and with other small community green spaces.
2. Sanatorium
In 1881, the nuns of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mary bought the former red castle and park of eleven hectares to look after the girls with tuberculosis. Seven years later they added a winter garden. In 1922, the St. Louis Pavilion opened across the street.
4. Pyramids
Pyramids are designed by architects Michel and Pierre Parat Andrault (builders of several metal buildings). These pyramids are also called home-tiered gardens and they are a kind of intermediate mixed habitat between the individual and the collective. Pyramids is a great place for everyone whom are interested in architecture and unique buildings.
This town is next to the north eastern suburbs of Paris and it is located eleven and half miles from its center. It has so many things to visit, you will not know where to start. But, you can always use our list as a guide.
