Tamworth is the home to Australia's country music. The Golden Guitar stands prominently at the city entrance and it was made in the honor of The King of Country Music in Australia, Slim Dusty. This centre is the home to the largest festival of country music in southern hemisphere in January each year. Tourists can enjoy coffee shop where they can sit and relax with the cup of coffee or a nice bite and a great shop with gift wares.

3. Powerhouse Motorcycle Museum

If you are a bike enthusiast, this museum is the place you must see! This is actually private collection of more than 50 motorcycles from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. There are some limited edition bikes and all are restored and in good condition. Some of the models are Honda, Ducati, Triumph, Laverda. Opening hours are from 9 am to 5 pm, tickets are 7 dollars for adults and 4 dollars for kids.

Hall of fame is preserving Australian country music for the future. The building is for now too small for all displays and it desperately need a new space. So, be prepared for many information and artifacts of the rich history of Australian country music. Besides the history, The Hall of Fame also follows younger country performers. Entrance tickets are 6 dollars but it is worth every penny.

2. Tamworth Power Station Museum

Tamworth Power Station Museum

In 1888 the first electric street lighting commenced in Australia, in the city of Tamworth. So, this museum is recording the history of electricity in Australia and this region. In the museum a visitor also can see the first cross compound under type steam engine in the world made by John Fowler. Opening hours are from 9 am to 1 pm from Wednesday to Saturday and small admission fee applies.

4. Walk A Country Mile Museum

Walk A Country Mile Museum

This is award winning museum and it tells the story of musicians that shaped the Australian country music. Here you can meet and hear the history in music so if you want to discover Australian rich heritage of folklore and history, come and visit this museum. The place is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm.
