Things to see in Takasaki

Takasaki is located around sixty miles north of Tokyo, and it is acclaimed as the main residence of the Daruma. It is the main residence of previous Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone. Takasaki is connected with Narita Airport. It leaves every hour via train or through the river. Takasaki is a stop on the Joetsu Shinkansen and Nagano Shinkansen lines. It is a center for the JR Takasaki, Hachiko and Ryomo lines. Things to see in Takasaki are:

1. Mt. Kannonyama

Mt. Kannonyama

Mt. Kannoyama has huge statue on top of it and you will know where you are only by seeing it. You can enter the statue and enjoy amazing view. There is a cavern with nature wonder cut from the stone inside. You can get a transport from Takasaki Station but they are very rare. Mountain is very astonishing, and you can get lot of fresh air here.

3. Gunma no Mori

Gunma no Mori is a forest five miles from the station. The Gunma prefecture has many galleries and historical events, and it is both placed inside. The structures are impressive. Maybe this place is not user friendly for kids and youngsters, but for every tourist who wants to learn something about this city, it is a must see.

5. Minowa castle

Minowa castle

Minowa castle is close to the base of Mt. Haruna. There isn't much left to see, but remains has huge historic value. Once you enter this castle, you will get to know more about history of Takasaki and how valuable this town is. If you want to take a picture, check with your guide if this is allowed for tourists. Castles in Japan are holy, and every person will feel the spirituality that radiates here.

2. Shorinzan Daruma Temple

Shorinzan Daruma Temple

Shorinzan Daruma Temple is renowned for being the spot where daruma dolls started. The sanctuary itself is very spiritual, with storehouse of old daruma dolls. Around five miles from the station, Zenpou-Kouen-Fun is located with prehistoric exhibition hall and another storehouse. The tombs are around 1500 years of age. You can learn everything about Daruma dolls, there are so many informations in english for tourists.

4. Mt. Haruna

Mt. Haruna

Another mountain is here. It is great monument inside Takasaki. You will need about an hour from the station to reach it. There is a small holy place established in 586 and it is next to beautiful waterway. Lake Haruna is a huge cavity lake, where you can stroll between.

You can reach Takasaki with Nippon Chuo Bus, from the Tokyo range to Takasaki. All transports stop at the Hilton Tokyo in Shinjuku.Other transports incorporate the Tokai Liner every day. The downtown area is very crowded, and full of tourists.
