1. Cathedral of St. Nicholas
Cathedral of St. Nicholas is a late Gothic church on the edge of the old town of Stendal. It is essentially known for its huge medieval stained glass. During Second World War, basilica endured air assault and it was half destroyed. Most importantly, south part and a piece of the house were demolished. The medieval windows were evacuated in time and saved. From the supplies of medieval stained glass windows are restored. In the nineteenth century cathedral was restored.
3. Altmärkische Museum
Altmärkische Museum was established in 1888 by parts of the Altmark Museum Association. The premise was structured the accumulations of the Lord of Alvensleben. Since fifty years ago, historical center is spotted in the previous religious community of St. Catherine. The cloister has showcase arrangement and it is open all year for guests. Topics of the display are the social history of eastern Altmark. New show zones will be opened in omage to industrialization of the city.
5. The Stendal zoo
The Stendal zoo is spotted in Stendal region city lake. The Stendal zoo was opened in 1934 and annihilated in 1944 by American aerial attackers. It has 460 creatures and over seventy species. The span of the whole framework is around six sections of land.
2. Winckelmann Museum
Winckelmann Museum is an exhibition hall in Stendal, dedicated to the originator of traditional archaic exploration of science, Johann Joachim Winckelmann. Winckelmann Museum is found at the site of the origin of Winckelmann, in the road named after him. History of the building is not exactly clear. It was opened in 1955 as main exhibition hall committed to Winckelmann.
4. Uenglinger gate
Uenglinger gate is symbol of the surviving city doors of Stendal. It was implicit the late Middle Ages. Initially Stendal had a few entryways and towers, some were deserted in the eighteenth century. The Uenglinger Gate is a standout amongst the most wonderful entryways in northern Germany. It has origins from fifteenth century as a building served as a component of the Northern Wall of the rich medieval city. The tower opened the path to the west in the Uenglingen.
Stendal was and is the biggest city of Altmark. It is found in northern Saxony-Anhalt in a beguiling scene of common magnificence in Uchtetal. Stendal hist. Old Town is a legacy range with the significant extension of 94 ha. The city claims beside history and fascinating stories and numerous forcing structures from the time of Brick Gothic.
