Staines-upon-Thames, or just Staines, is a town on the River Thames in the area in Surrey, England. Before 1965, it was located at Middlesex. The town transformed its official name from Staines to Staines-upon-Thames in 2012. The town is inside the western limits Charing Cross in London. It is inside the London Commuting Belt and London Urban Area. It is part of Green Belt.

1. The Thames Path

The Thames Path is a National Trail formed in 1948 and opened for visitors in 1996. It has length of River Thames and it is over two hundred kilometers long. The whole length of the way can be strolled, and a few parts can be cycled. The vast majority of the way utilizes the first original path and it looks unrealistic. The primary purpose of the path is easy cross over the waterway. It is a place where you can feel like you are in fairytale.

English European Airways Flight was a flight from London Heathrow to Brussels and it is one of the most tragic events in English history. This horrible event is known as the Staines disaster and remains the deadliest air disaster that happens in the United Kingdom. The accident occurred during the foundation of a pilots' strike and over one hundred people died in it. The Hawker Siddeley Trident was very famous plane, but it become infamous for this tragic event.

Staines Bridge is a bridge in a south west to north east course over the River Thames. It is located between Staines-upon-Thames and Egham Hythe. Crosses are in the area between Penton Hook Lock and Bell Weir Lock, near River Colne. In Roman times, Staines lied on a critical Roman street and there was more than one extension to walk over Church Island. It is important part of Stains history and very worth to visit.

4. Spelthorne

Spelthorne is a neighborhood governmental area located on the north bank of the River Thames, between Hampton Wick and Twickenham. It can be found ten miles south west of Charing Cross. It extends area from the River Thames to Bushy Park. It was once known as Spelethorne but it change its name ages ago. It contains various villages and spots from ancient times. It is good for family visit and social gathering with your friends.

Staines upon Thames is maybe small town, but is has so much to offer. You won't be dissapointed if you visit it.
