1. Building Regaliere ( Quinta da Regaleira )
This building is located in the heart of Sintra. Regaliere building was built in the early 20th century by English millionaire Antonio Augusto Carvalho and is considered an architectural achievement of the dream. The building was designed by Italian architect Luigi Manini. This five-star building under the protection of UNESCO World Heritage distinguished blend of Gothic and neo-classical style. The building is composed of a beautiful chapel, large gardens and elegant lake. This palace was built during the reign of King D. João V ( 18th century) . Monserrate Palace is a traditional summer resort of the members of the Portuguese court. It was built in 1858th year of Sir Francis Cook, an English baronet. This palace is a fine example of Sintra Romanticism, together with other nearby palaces.
2. Queluz Palace (Palacio Real de Queluz )
It is believed that this building is one of the greatest examples of rococo architecture in Europe. This sophisticated palace from the 18th century now serves as a museum and a house for the reception of foreign heads of state. Historically , this building represents the pinnacle of extravagance Portugal. This historical monument has a room with a beautiful decorative tiles, richly gilt ornaments, crystal chandeliers and a famous garden inspired by Versailles gardens.
4. Capuchos Monastery ( Convento dos Capuchos )
Capuchos Monastery is a historic monastery, which consists of small buildings and public spaces that are in the civil parish of Sao Pedro de Penaferrim , in the municipality of Sintra. The monastery was founded in 1560.
This city is a favorite tourist destination. It is particularly popular among the residents of Lisbon.
