5 things to do and see in Sendai

Sendai is the biggest city in the Tohoku on the Honshu island. It is isolated into five regions: Aoba-ku, Izumi-ku, Miyagino-ku, Taihaku-ku and Wakabayashi-ku. It is not small, nor too big town. Sendai is a charming city and a decent place to live. It's extremely green, it is also known as Wood City. The primary boulevards around the city are wide and tree-lined.

1. Tanabata festival

The greatest festival here, it is the most well known in Japan and begins with firecrackers on august. It lasts four days, and by that time the boulevards are adorned with tremendous lights. Tanabata is exquisite thing to see, and you can enjoy it every year.

3. The Donto-sai Festival

The Donto-sai Festival is held at the Osaki Hachiman Shrine on January 14 every year. It is very entertaining, and it is, as all other festivals, full of tourists who like to have fun and have a good time.

5. Nikka Whisky Distillery Tour

Nikka Whisky Distillery Tour is a place where you don't need to speak english, because host doesn't know to speak english, but whisky speaks all languages. Tours are directed each 15 to 20 minutes. Entrance is free, but drink is not.

Aoba-dori is decorated in a large number of orange lights. This area is extremely charming, with the orange sparkle throwing a warmth over the generally icy and chilly avenues. It is a place where you can truly feel Japanese spirit and all its power.

4. Michinoku-Yosakoi Festival

Michinoku-Yosakoi festival is small gathering festival where you can have some good times few hours on the thrill rides and different types of tracks. Kids are love it, and if you have children do not miss a chance to take them here.
