Must see in Saint-Chamond

Saint-Chamond is located in the Southern Loire department between the Lyon and Saint-Etienne in the valley of Gier. It has little more then thirty eight thousand inhabitants. Saint-Chamond is the main city of the Valley of Gier and it combines the characteristics of a modern town with tradition and a beautiful countryside. Saint-Chamond dates back to the Roman period.

Saint Chamond was formed as a fort for guarding one of five aqueducts that supplied the ancient Roman city Lyon. Near the city is a mountain Pilat. That is a massif that dominates at the valley of the Gier. Pilat is agreat place if you want to enjoy in the contact with nature.
