This museum was established in 1844 and now is located in a mansion from the XVIIIth century. Joseph Déchelette went on business trip to Egypt in 1893 to buy a large batch of Egyptian antiquities. The museum now has regional archeology collections, paintings, ceramics from the period of the XVIth to the XXth century, collection of African art and a great looking collection of Egyptian art.
