What to do in Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is one of the largest and most attractive cities of Brazil. Urbanism, carnivals , fabulous beaches, nightclubs, restaurants, modern building, rich in history, sociable people and excellent food, in one word - Rio! Rio is the main destination of all tourists who are visiting Brazil, it is almost unthinkable to travel Brazil and not visit Rio.

1. Maracana

The stadium Maracana stadium in Rio and one of the largest and most visited stadiums in the world . The stadium is located in the eponymous area called Marakana. It was built for world championship of soccer in the year 1950 with a capacity of 200,000 spectators.

Copacabana

Copacabana district of Rio is known for its 4 kilometers long beach. It is located on the coast and starts from the Avenue, and ends at the Copacabana fortress. It is known for a famous Rolling Stones concert in 1994, with three million people.

Christ the Savior (Cristo Redentor) is a sculpture that is located on a hill Corcovado. Sculpture is 38 meters high and it is one of the most visited in the world. It represents a unity of faith in the area of Rio.

Tijuka is a national park and rainforest who is often called The heart of Rio. Within it is a sculpture of Christ over a waterfall which applies to one of the most beautiful in the world. The most visited part of Tijuka is the top of Pedra da Gavea, on the cliff parc.

4. Sugarloaf

Sugarloaf is a mountain in Rio de Janeiro in the Bay Guanabra on a peninsula that comes out on the ocean. Sugarloaf rises above the sea . Hill is a popular tourist attraction because it is known by a cable car that climbs to the top of its hill.
