1. Koala Hospital

Koala Hospital

This is the first hospital for koalas in the world. It takes care of this wonderful creatures, one of the Australia's symbols, that suffer from dog attacks, bush fires and collisions with vehicles. Admission is free but donations are more than welcome. You can also buy different products to support their work or to virtually adopt a koala and pay for its recovery. Opening hours are from 8 am to 4,30 pm every day with feeding times at 8 am and 3 pm.

3. Sea Acres National Park and Rainforest Centre

Sea Acres National Park and Rainforest Centre

This is the largest, most diverse and the least disturbed coastal rainforest in New South Wales. Here you can enjoy the sightseeing from the 1,3 km elevated rainforest boardwalk. You can explore the rainforest by yourself or with the volunteer guide. Opening hours are 9 am to 4,30 pm daily and entry fee applies depending on which tour your choose.

It is nice place to spend a day with you family, especially kids. You can take boat tours, cruise, walk by the river, go fishing or even canoeing down the river. Possibilities are countless and all very enjoyable. Tourists that come here are thrilled and want to come back.

Enjoy coastal walk that has 9 km track and will give you thrilling scenic views of the dramatic coastline. Feel the beaches and suburbs of Port Macquarie. This is one of the most popular activity among the city residents. There are also BBQ and picnic facilities and many grassy areas that you can enjoy with the kids. There are many beaches in the area where you can take a swim or surf or just enjoy the coffee in local bar. During the walk through the Lighthouse Beach you can even go on a camel ride. If you are lucky enough, you will meet bottle nose dolphins.

4. Port Macquarie Historical Museum

Port Macquarie Historical Museum

The museum tells the story of Port Macquarie's unique and rich heritage and history. You can learn about the first Aboriginal people here and British settlers as well as contemporary history as a touristic city. Among the artifacts is also sugar crushing mill that was used to process sugar crops. The museum is open Monday to Saturday 9,30 to 4,30 pm.

This city has humid subtropical climate and is recognized as most livable in Australia. Things to do in Port Macquarie are pleasant and you will certainly remember them all for a long, long time.
