1. Square 5th October (Praça 5 de Outubro)
In this square is dominated by the imposing Renaissance fortress, Fortaleza de Sao Bras. Today, it has preserved its original appearance overall thanks to being completely rebuilt in the 19th century. Around this square is also impressive Convento da Esperanca (Hope Monastery), which contains a magnificent choir is decorated with tiles that date back to the 18th century. 3. Antonio Borges Garden (Jardim António Borges)

4. Lake Seven Cities (Lagoa das Sete Cidades)
Lake Seven Cities was formed by two large lakes that meet the huge crater of the dormant volcano.
