Ovar is a place on the west coast of Portugal. The place has a very pleasant climate and abundant beautiful beaches so that is a very popular resort. City dates from the XVI century (first mentioned in documents from 1514). This area has many sites that are of interest to tourists.

1. Maceda Beach (Praia de Maceda)

Maceda Beach is located next to a beautiful pine forest and has all the necessary ancillary facilities such as showers, bars and the like. The sand on the beach is very nice and the waves, this beach is very popular with surfers.

3. Maceda Church (Igreja Matriz de Maceda)

The church was built in honor of St. Peter. This is high and wide building with two towers. The old church was built in the seventeenth century, Exterior Riesling is covered with tiles.

5. Atelier for conservation and restoration of tiles (Atelier de Conservação e Restauro do Azulejo)

Ovar is a living museum of tiles and tile. Home to many of the streets are covered with tiles with different colors and designs. The vast majority of the tiles in Ovar dates from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The studio is responsible for the preservation of the architectural heritage of Owari. It can be seen specimens of most types of tiles that are used in this area.

2. Ovar Parish Church (Igreja Matriz de Ovar)

This building is an essential part of the architectural heritage of the municipality of Ovar. The building was built in the last quarter of the eighteenth century. The church has undergone numerous renovations to the present day. The church is longitudinal in shape, with three ships, which are separated by Tuscan columns. There are two side chapels, two pulpit and two bell towers. In a small alcove on the facade covered with tiles in 1927, is a painting patron St. Kitts limestone dating from the late fifteenth century.

4. Chapel steps (Capelas dos Passos)

These chapels were built in the period between 1748 and 1756. They are located in the historic center of the city and simple architecture. Its interior is richly decorated with paintings from the time perspective and rich baroque carvings. These chapels were declared as the building of national interest in 1999 and since then has been working to ensure their conservation and restoration.
