1. Waterworks Track
This walk leaves from Brownlee Avenue and passes through magnetic shrubbery and nearby Mangarata Stream on the route to an old dam. This 750,000-litre repository, built in 1922, was at one time the water supply for Ngaruawahia.
3. Turangawaewae Marae
This is the official living arrangement and gathering place of the leader of the Kingitanga. The marae's edifices incorporate the cut Mahinarangi gathering house, inherent 1929, and beside it, Turongo House, the Māori King or Queen's authority living arrangement, implicit 1938. The name Turangawaewae implies a spot to stand (turanga - stand or position; waewae - leg or foot).
5. Waingaro Hot Springs
Four warm mineral pools spotted at the town of Waingaro, offering New Zealand's longest open high temp water hydroslide. Spotted 23km west of Ngaruawahia. Wide mixture of exercises and offices on location. 3 high temp water pools. New Zealand's longest high temp water slide, guard vessels, private spa pools, amusements room, TV, pool tables, trampolines, kids' play region, and may more.
2. Taupiri Mountain
Spotted 8 km northeast of Ngaruawahia, the mountain was previously a a holy graveyard for Waikato Maori. Lords Potatau, Tawhiao and Te Rata are covered here, and Princess Te Puea.
4. Hakarimata Reserve
There are a few overall stamped strolling tracks, incorporating the 7hr Hakarimata Walkway, and a 3 hour return stroll from Brownlee Ave to Hakarimata Trig. These rocks have profitable coal measures at their base and the area to the north and west of the reach is one of New Zealand's significant coal processing zones.
Ngaruawahia is found at the intersection of two incredible streams - Waikato and Waipa. These waterways were once essential kayak ways for Maori and later for the European pioneers. Taupiri Mountain, which watches over Ngaruawahia, is consecrated and holds the Waikato's most noteworthy Maori graveyard.
