1. The Iwate Museum of Art
The Iwate Museum of Art in Morioka showcases works by three artists, Tetsugoro Yorozu, Shunsuke Matsumoto and Yasutake Funakoshi. It is truly national treasure where you can enjoy magnificent displays of many master pieces.

Hoon-ji is a Soto Zen Buddhist sanctuary. It was initially constructed at Sannohe by the thirteenth ruler of the Nambu tribe, Nambu Moriyuki. It is related to Nambu family. Its main attraction is Rushana, made by Kobo-daishi. There are many statuest built in Kyoto and later brought to Morioka.
