1. The Moersar Castle
The Moersar Castle is the oldest building in the city of Moers. History of the castle is now well known, since much information is lost about the construction during the great city fire. The castle is located between the Castle Square and the City Park. It houses the Grafschafter Museum and the Municipal Theatre. History of the castle is mystery for many people. There are not much information about architectural history and this is what makes this castle interesting to visit.
3. The Peschkenhaus
The Peschkenhaus dates from the 15th century. It is the oldest town house in the Lower Rhine Moers. Its gallery is located inside the building at the Neumarkt in the city center. It was built around 1460 in the late Gothic style. Later, it was renovated with new facade. For thirty years, it was known as main city gallery. Temporary exhibitions of art and exhibits of contemporary art are presented. It is run by the Art Association. Weddings are also held here.
2. Moers Palace Theatre
In the basement of the castle, Theatre is located. It was established during period when Holk Freytag was director. It is located in Ruhr area as main cultural point. Shopping center is also available which makes it interesting for younger tourists. This was a great decision by castle authorities. Surroundings of the castle is also amazing, so feel free to stroll around while you are there.
4. Railway station
The station is located in independant part of the town. It was establihed by Prussian State Railway. It is located on the eastern edge of downtown area. There is a local train station available to use. Behind the reception building there are tracks with over two hundred long platforms. Circular path is still used for special events.
Moers is located in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the district of Wesel. The city is situated at an altitude of over thirty meters. It is located at area of almost seventy square kilometers.
