What to do in Herten

Herten is a town and a region in the area of Recklinghausen, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is arranged in the modern Ruhr region, nearly five kilometers west of Recklinghausen. Herten what the seat of the governors of the County of Vest Recklinghausen, to independent state inside the Archbishopric of Cologne. It is known for many sights including mansion of red block palace Herten and the old town Westerholt.

1. Castle Park

This castle park is a jewel in the middle of the city. In the heart of the English landscape garden is a baroque castle from the fourteenth century. It is surrounded with three crowded streets which attract visitors to the park. Over two hundred exotic plants, many of them unique in Europe, can be found here. The park leads into castle forest that extends to the southern city limits Herten.

3. A Mosque

A Mosque is a ritual place of the Islamic community and beyond the political, legal and practical influence and you can see it in Herten. Prayer can be performed anywhere every day, but is very religious to be performed in the mosque.

5. The Roman Catholic Church

The Roman Catholic Church is another church to be found in Herten. It has largest number of members after Latin Church and the Eastern Catholic Churches. As you can see, Herten is a town where you can see many churches, but don't miss this one, it is very beautiful and amazing.

2. Landscape Park

The Landscape Park is a public project in the northern Ruhr area, the redesigned around seven square kilometers former industrial sites of coal mining to recreation parkland on the edge of the city. The planning began in 2001, the structural implementation in 2004, with completion in 2008. It was planned by several landscape architects, planners and astronomers. It is today public recreation park with many attractions such as the horizontal sundial with obelisks, the horizon observatory and the Trail.

4. The New Apostolic Church

The New Apostolic Church is a Christian religious community, which has developed from Hamburg to Herten. It is formed by General Christian Apostolic Mission in Hamburg, part of Catholic Apostolic Community, created from the other Apostolic churches which later largely formed up to the New Apostolic Church. Their important beliefs include the expectation of Christ's return in the near future.

Herten is a small town with many religious buildings and nice surroundings. You can visit it anytime of the year.
