What to see in Hanau

Hanau is a town in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis, in Hesse, Germany. It is spotted twenty miles east of Frankfurt am Main. Its station is a significant route intersection. It is well known for being the origin of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Town facilitated the third Hessentag state celebration. Things to see in Hanau are:

1. Philippsruhe Palace

Philippsruhe Palace

Philippsruhe Palace is located at the waterway Main in Hanau-Kesselstadt and it was construct after 1700. This is an extravagant royal residence for Graf Philipp Reinhard von Hanau built by Julius L. Rothweil and Jaques Girard. The Graves of Hessen-Kassel utilized the castle as summer royal residence. After the French intrusion Napoleon gave the royal residence to his sister Princess Borghese. The park was redesigned into an english guarden. It is a home to Hanau Historic Museum.

3. Old Town

Old Town

Altstädter Markt was the focal spot of the old town. The wonderful half-timbered house was the town lobby of Hanau. The previous town lobby is presently the Deutsches Goldschmiedehaus. You can go inside to see exhibitons and research the gold and silversmiths' industry. In this area, Stadthalle is located, as well as library building.

5. New Town

New Town

Until 1821, two urban communities excisted with their two different city committees. Neustädter Rathaus is other one. The Marktplatz is located in New Town.

2. St. Mary's Church

St. Mary's Church

St Mary's Church remains in a area of the old town of Hanau, at the German House of Goldsmiths close to Old Town market. The Marienkirche is situated to the east.

The natural life park Alte Fasanerie is a fascination for all creature lovers, children and grown-ups. Tremendous park has forests, glades, and open spaces for picnics. You can see here deers, buffaloes, wolves and wild pigs. On weekends you can drive all through the recreation center. Horse rides are offered for kids.

Hanau was town with valuable metal exchange, which dates from the sixteenth century. A great part of the town was modified after devastation in World War II, and the new structures were erected afterwards.
