1. Museum Bouxwiller and Pays de Hanau
The museum was created in 1933. The main task of this museum is to present to the public the history of Bouxwiller and Hanau-Lichtenberg. It will give you an overview of popular arts and traditions of the country of Hanau (like furniture, paintings, costumes, traditional objects, etc.).
3. St. George's Church
St. George's Church is the Roman Catholic parish church. This church is among the biggest in this region. Their building started in the XII century. It was mostly builded in Gothic style. In the church is a four meters high and three meters wide crucifix. The bell tower of the church has two bells from the XIIIth century. Those bells are the oldest in this part of Europe.
5. Le Musee du Bagage
Le Musee du Bagage (Museum of packages) is a very interesting place. The museum collects, preserves, presents, maintenance and restores suitcases, trunks, bags from all sources. It keeps the original gestures and manufacturing methods from the past.
2. Alsatian Museum
Alsatian Museum is located in the Old Chancellery (from 1484), a bright red Renaissance building. The building was partially rebuilt in the 19th century. The astronomical clock with dial astrolabe is a copy of the clock built in the City Hall of Ulm in XVIth century by the Swiss Isaac Habrecht.
4. St. Nicholas' Church
St. Nicholas' Church was built in XIIIth century. It is among the only two churches that survived the destruction of the troops of Loius XIV. It still has enough artistic treasure to attract the visitors.
Haguenau was founded at the beginning of the 12th century and it was ruined and restored several times. However, despite its turbulent history and the almost total destruction in 1677, it managed to preserve a plenty of historical monuments.
