This cottage tells the story of the region that dates back in 1870s when copper and gold mining put this valley on the map. It offers large display of memorabilia and photographs that tells the story of mining, dairy production, cattle grazing and timbering.

4. Tondoon Botanic Gardens

This place is full of trees and many other different and astonishing plants. Opening hours are from 9 am to 5,30 daily and the entry is free. If you have a dog, you can't take it in, but there is plenty of parking spots for your car. You can enjoy many different walking tracks and we also must say this place is great for the wedding ceremonies.

Near Gladstone there are historical villages which you can also visit and learn about the life of Aboriginal people. Things to do in Gladstone are fun for the whole family and the best part is that most of them have a free entry.
