1. Basilique Saint-Maurice d'Epinal
Basilique Saint-Maurice d'Epinal on Goëry Square was built between eleventh and twelfth centuries, the basilica. The church was built in Gothic architectural style. However, its facades illustrate the variety of the regional styles (like Rhenish and mosan). There is a very well preserved statue of virgin with color still remaining on it. The church was restored by Emile Boeswillwald after strong damages in 1793. This church is part of France historical heritage.
3. The castle of Epinal
The castle of Epinal and the ruins of the fortress dominate over the Epinal valley and the Moselle valley. This medieval castle is located above the old town and it is a great attraction for visitors.
5. Epinal-Bouzey walking path
This walking path start from the Epinal port and take the tow path, it crosses the "Canal des Vosges" in Golbey, and allows you to go to the fort in Sanchey and then to the Canal reservoir up to Bouzey.
2. Cité de l'Image
Cité de l'Image consists of The museum of the image and l'Imagerie d'Epinal. The museum of the image has a collection of more then one hundred images, lithographies, and wood engravings. L'Imagerie d'Epinal was created in the begininng of XVIIIth. It is still active today. The museum has several equipments in order to help the understanding of the very numerous popular images kept in the establishment. L'Imagerie d'Epinal allows visitors to discover workshops and techniques of manufacturing the images.
4. The Roman House
The Roman House dates from eleventh and the thirteenth century and it is the copy of House in Pompeï. Its Rose garden has six thousand of rose bushes in five hundred and fifty different varieties. You just have to imagine how beautiful this must be in real proporsions.
Epinal is a nice and quiet town and you will like it with all your heart. It has so much offers you would not know where to start exploring.
