1. Fort Edmonton Park
Welcome to Canada's history village. The staff there wear historical costumes. This is actually a place where the time has stopped and you can even take a ride in steam train, learn about the fur trade, settlement era and many other things. It is open each year at the beginning of May through the September.
3. High Level Bridge and Streetcar
The bridge is 755 meters long and 49 meters high and was open in 1913. The service Streetcar begins in May and ends in October and this is something that will lead you to the history. The vintage streetcar is run by non profit organization.
5. Whyte Avenue
This is the great place to eat, shop and walk and check the festivals. It's a busy street lined with bars, shops and restaurants. Here you can find everything, from food to clothes and a good company people.
2. William Hawrelak Park
Originally it is called Mayfair Park and is settled on area of 68 hectares with the lake and grass. Many festivals are held there, especially in the summer time, like Pets in Park, International Blues Festival, Symphony Under the Sky and so on. It also offers picnic sites, playground, ice skate rental and so on. The lake is not for fishing and swimming.
4. Ukranian Cultural Heritage Village
This is award winning historical site that show casts Ukrainian settlement into this area in Edmonton. There are costumed role players and more than 30 historic buildings and even grain elevator. You can sample traditional food and visit gift shop. The village is open in summer season, meaning May - October, from 10 am to 5 pm. Regular daily admissions for adults are 9 dollars and kids under 17 years old have to pay 4 dollars.
Edmonton is definitely educational, cultural and governmental centre. Things to do in Edmonton are enjoyable for the whole family.
