Things to do and see in Custoias

Custoias a place on the west area of Portugal, in the province of Matosinjos. This town is located only eight miles from the metropolis of Porto. Because of its location and because of the many interesting tourist destinations, Custoias was very well attended throughout the year.

1. Parish Church (Igreja de Paroquial Custóias)

According to the documents on the site of the present church was still in 1258 there was a small church. This church is build in eighteenth century and it was in very poor condition so it was demolished to make in its place built the current church. During the nineteenth century the church was attached to a bell tower in the baroque style. At the front door there is a picture of a saint parish. The interior of the church was built in the Portuguese baroque style. In the middle is a large altar. Fenced part of altar was made in 1733. The altar was lined with figures of angels, which at the same time serve as candlesticks. In the chapel on the right side there are beautiful images of Saint Sebastian and Mary. The ceiling is covered with wooden tiles with scenes from the Bible.

Near the parish church and the main square is the house itself Tiago. It is one of the most beautiful buildings in Custoias-in. This house is a tremendous achievement, civil architecture from the late seventeenth century, and the economic power that some families is captured in the end failed to achieve at that time.
