Chatellerault is located in the Poitou-Charentes region in central France. This town belongs to Vienne deprtment. Thirty one thousand and nine hundred people is living in this small town. This town has a great history. Chatellerault and its surrounding villages offer a wealth of local treasures to discover.

1. Car Motorbike Bicycle museum

Fascinating visits await you in the town’s museum. The most popular museums are Car Motorbike Bicycle museum, former Weapons Factory and the historical Sully Museum. With the arrival of the Industrial Revolution, a Weapons Factory was built in Chatellerault. It worked for a long period, and it was well known by its famous skill workers. The factory was closed in 1968. Today it is the home of the Car Motorbike Bicycle Museum.

If you are a fun of Renaissance period you should visit Henri IV Bridge, Hôtel Sully or the Réné Descartes family residence.

5. Chatellerault Arboretum

If you like to enjoy in nature you should visit Chatellerault with its arboretum. This natural forest and its lake is a fabulous beauty spot for in which the whole family can enjoy. In Arboretum you will find 62 different trees from every country in the world stretching alongside this 1,500 meter long path.
