1. Vaucelles Abbey
Tourists usually start their visit in Vaucelles Abbey which is located near the town. This building is one of the most impressive and famous in whole northern France. It was constructed in the beginning of the XII century. In the XIIIth century the Abbey had the biggest Cistercian church in Europe which was even bigger than the famous Notre-Dame de Paris. Today the altar which was made of Carrare marble can be seen in the Saint-Géry church in Cambrai and some of the books that had been assembled in the Library can be found at the Cambrai library. The building was very impressive, but after centuries of existence, the Abbey was in ruins. The restoration procedures were launched in 1971 and now it is again a good place for visit.

The museum of Cambrai is housed in a restored hotel that is constructed in the XVIIIth century. Within an area of 4300 square meters of exhibition space, it has a collection that consists only of original works. Three main parts of the Cambrai Museum are: the Department of Archaeology, the Department of Fine Arts and Heritage Department. In Archaeology Department you will find objects from prehistory. Classical Archaeology and the Gallo-Roman, all related to the themes of ceramic and funeral world. The museum also has works of French painters such as Ingres, Claudel and Rodin.

Citadel that was constructed in 1543 is a very interesting place. It has very high value for every tourist which came here.
