Things to visit in Buxtehude

City of Buxtehude is spotted in the metropolitan area of Hamburg and it is a region on the southern edge of the Altes Land. The city is spotted between the area of Hamburg Neugraben-Fischbek and the province town of Stade. It has around 40,000 occupants and it is the second biggest city of the region of Stade. 1. Ovelgönne bread roll

Ovelgönne bread roll

In Buxtehude's, Ovelgönne bread roll was discovered in 1952. It dates from the Pre-Roman Iron Age era. It is most established surviving rolls in Europe. Bread roll had two ends. Its shape is regular and it is only 1.4 inch wide.

3. Buxtehude Regional Museum

Buxtehude Regional Museum have displays of history and artwork from this part of town. In the new building, there are contemporary art works with unique and valuable shows. The Buxtehude Museum routinely displays unique shows on local history themes.

5. Buxtehude Wine Festival

The Wine Festival is held in late August at the St. Dwindle's Square. Wine makers and merchants from Germany offer their items here and you are welcome to try it. On Friday and Saturday evening music gatherings happen. Music that can be heard here is jazz, oldies, and so on.

2. St. Mary's Church

St. Mary's Church

Placed in the center of Buxtehude's Old Town, St. Mary's Church can be visited. The street is open for all visitors and you can walk around its surroundings and enjoy the view. Church is 700 year old with three sacrificial stones and numerous interesting sights. Organ music can be heard here too, and it is worth to visit if you want to connect yourself with old spirits.
