1. RAF Andover
RAF Andover is a previous Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force station spotted two miles west of Andover, Hampshire and north east of Salisbury. The landing area is most amazing place ever, and it is a site of first electronic system during First World War. Also, first British military helicopter unit and first European helicopter flying preparing school was settled here. RAF Andover was utilized after Second World War for many research and flight testing.
3. RHM plc
RHM plc, previously Ranks Hovis Mcdougall, was an United Kingdom food company. The organization possessed various brands, especially for flour, where its center economy began. It was recorded on the London Stock Exchange and was at one time a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. The Company was established by Joseph Rank in 1875 as flour production company. It is interesting place to visit.
2. Rooksbury Mill
Rooksbury Mill is an old watermill in Andover and a Grade II building. The building and its related structures are exclusive, yet the encompassing area is claimed by the Test Valley Borough Council. Present building dates from the late sixteenth century. Rooksbury Mill may be one of the eleven factories that existed in Andover in 1089. Flour processing stopped at the site in the early twentieth century. The Test Valley Borough Council sold the building in 2002, not long after it had been crushed by flame.
4. Amport House
Amport House, at present the British Armed Forces Chaplaincy Center, is a lodge close Andover, Hampshire. It is currently a Grade II recorded building. The current house, which was inherent an Elizabethan style, was built close to the town of Amport by John Paulet, fourteenth Marquess of Winchester. During the thirties, the house was possessed by Colonel Sofer-Whitburn.
Andover is small town with lots of interesting buildings and structures. You can walk around and explore new things every day.
