Andalgala is an oasis watered by the Andalgalá River at the area of the southernmost Sierra de Aconquija, subtropical jungle covered foothills and north of Campo de Belén, a desert area that contains the Salar de Pipanaco.

Hotel Casona is a unique nineteenth century building and it offers guests a warm and relaxing stay in contact with the nature and past histories of ancient Chaquiago. The Literary "Tantanakuy" Group was found May 10, 2007, under the name Andalgalá Writers Association. It currently brings together writers and as well as cultural events taking place in the mentioned places.
4. Uma Club
Uma Club is a disco place located in La Aguada, the viewpoint of the hill. It is great for young ones and everyone who love to dance.
Andalgala's main productions are olive, peach, walnut, grape, quince, cotton, potato seeds, spices and sheep. The Andalgalá River, which passes nearby, has a hydroelectric plant abandoned. In recent times this town has become famous because of opposition from the vast majority of its inhabitants to open pit mining.
