1. The Natural Bridge
This is the natural granite formation caused by wearing away of the rock. This is the reminder of the power of the ocean cause over the time it carved the bridge in the rock face. In the mist caused by waves crashing you can see double rainbows there.
3. Bluff Knoll
This is the peak in the Stirling Range and it is 1,099 meters above the sea level and it is the rare place in Western Australia to experience regular snow falls. To climb the Bull Knoll is a round trip of 6 kilometers and it takes 3 to 4 hours. If you want to reach it, be prepared for the cold wind in the winter months and during the summer dehydration is the common problem for hikers. The view is magnificent and, of course, the tour is free of charge.
5. Emu Point
It is located just a few kilometers of Albany City Centre and it is a great place to take a swim in the clear and shallow water or enjoy in a picnic. There are many useful facilities like toilets, picnic tables, restaurant and parking spots. You can also meet pelicans here.
2. Albany Wind Farm
This is one of the largest wind farms in the whole Australia. Along the Torndirrup peninsula there are 12 eco friendly turbines that you can get to know better in numerous walking tours. The wind farm is open every day for a visit and it is also free to visit.
4. Princess Royal Fortress
This is one of the best outdoor military museums of Australia. It offers view on collection of naval torpedoes and guns and also barracks, shoe batteries and armories. There are more than 25,000 visitors per year. Opening times are from 9 am to 5 pm every day, adults have too pay 9 dollars and children age 9 to 16 4 dollars.
This touristic town has mild Mediterranean climate so it's not wonder it always attracts many tourists. Things to do in Albany are enjoyable for the whole family.
