Must do and see in Val - d'Or

Val - d'Or is a small town in Quebec, Canada. This small but important town is the perfect holiday destination, learn about Canadian culture and entertainment. This little town was made at the height of the Gold Rush and was of great importance because it is rich in precious minerals that are today important part of the area, if you are also a lover of Mining and everything related to the mining town gives you an experience like never so far!

1. La Cité de l' Or

This beautiful little town which was renamed the "City of Gold" provides a wonderful adventure and a tour of the mine and down to three levels below the surface, the research house where the miners stayed at, a couple of machines and tools . Truly an excellent experience , mine actually has 27 levels, but were only 3 available to visitors since the mine is closed. In some area there is complete darkness and you will feel how miners feel, an extraordinary experience that can not be forgotten!

3. Observation Tower

This beautiful tower hanging 50 feet high, and it is located in the beautiful forest that has plenty of interesting animals that can be seen on almost a meter of you. Tower provides a phenomenal view of the city and the whole area nicknamed "the land of a hundred thousand lakes", which is actually not far from the truth.

5. Sports Club Belvedere

This beautiful park designed golf course was put into operation in 1992. This field offers a real challenge and excitement. Designed by Graham Cooke, an internationally renowned architect, this field offers one of the best courses in the area of Quebec. Beautiful course with 18 holes located in the picturesque surroundings only a few minutes drive from the city center , an excellent experience and a challenge for beginners and experts.

2. Palais des Sports

Have you ever watched hockey on television but have you seen it live?When you stop by the Val - d'Or, you will have the opportunity to watch hockey matches at the Palais des Sports, the field in top condition , friendly staff and cheap tickets , the perfect place for the implementation of the afternoon.

4. Abitibi - Témiscamingue Regional Mining Museum

This beautiful museum was opened in honor of the mining heritage of the region Abitibi - Témiscamingue. The Museum has a fine collection of minerals from the region and the world, as well as a multimedia exhibit that takes visitors on a simulated journey to the core of the ore highlighting the different phases of the formation of the Earth, an unforgettable experience .
