5 things to do and see in Sosnowiec

Sosnowiec is a beautiful historical and cultural city in Poland in the Silesian Dutchery. Sosnowiec has received city rights only in 1902. Several hundred years after the partition of Poland, the city was named after the Polish word "sosno" which means pine forest. The city has undergone tremendous tests during both major wars of the 20th century, the First World War. The city's industry was destroyed while in the Second World War, a large number of people have been taken to concentration camps.

Sosnowiec Główny

Sosnowiec Główny is the main railway station of the city and it is an important historical site of this area. The railway station was built in 1859. The stripes of the railway station linking Warsaw - Vienna. The building is in a neo-classical style and was designed by Italian-born architect Henry Marconi. Within the building you can see the image as it was previously operated the train station.

Restored so many times throughout history because of its turbulent past and the conflicts that took place in its surroundings, the castle is used today for cultural exhibitions, concerts, ceremonies and other important activities.

4. Leon Kruczkowski Park

Leon Kruczkowski Park

Leon Kruczkowski was a great Polish writer and journalist who died in 1962. He left a big mark in the form of books and a beautiful park that is named after him. In park you can see about 80 species of plants and animal populations. Park has a reptiles, fish and mammels. Park is an excellent promenade for tourists , evening walks on beautiful street lamps of the park represent an extraordinary experience.

Sosnowiec today is a large and developed city full of cultural and historical sites and monuments of great opportunity for tourists.
