1. Arcos Palace ( Palácio dos Arcos )
King Manuel I often stayed in the palace along with his daughter , to participate in celebration and watch the ships going on a trip to India. Also King Ferdinand , King Louis and Queen Maria Pia came here to attend the famous regatta Cakias. The palace was built in the late fifteenth century. The palace was restored in the eighteenth century. The palace was later belonged to the family of Lancaster, whose characteristics are visible today in this building. From the initial structure, the building still has three domes with arches and a chapel with an altar in the Baroque style, dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. This building is now owned by the municipality of Paco de Arcos.
3. Car Museum ( Museu do Automóvel )
The Museum has a collection of vintage cars and bikes. The purpose of this museum is to illustrate the development and history of the car during the twentieth century . The museum also has some really valuable collectible cars. This museum also regularly organizes temporary exhibitions and meetings among collectors to share knowledge , opinions and experiences.
5. Chapel of Jesus Christ ( Capela do Senhor Jesus dos Navegantes )
Chapel of Christ is a very old little church, whose construction began 1698th Chapel of the Lord Jesus Christ is very respected by fishermen and sailors. In 1877 , the temple was restored and blessed at the expense of the hospital. Today in Paco de Arcos ( the last week of August), a traditional procession to honor the Lord Jesus Christ .
2. Bake Kal ( Fornos de Cal )
Bake Kal is the name given to the oven for 5 lime, ranked as a monument of public interest. These ovens were first mentioned in documents from the year 1582. Exploitation of lime for centuries constituted an important economic activity in the whole area.
4. Fort Giribita (Forte de Giribita )
Fort Giribita little fortress on the sea. The building was built in the Baroque style . The purpose of this fort was to strengthen the defense of the coast of the river Tagus . Its role was to support the Fort St. Julian of Barra.
This beautiful town has about 15,000 inhabitants and is very attractive for tourists. The city has a long history and a lot of historical buildings in its territory .
