King Manuel I often stayed in the palace along with his daughter , to participate in celebration and watch the ships going on a trip to India. Also King Ferdinand , King Louis and Queen Maria Pia came here to attend the famous regatta Cakias. The palace was built in the late fifteenth century. The palace was restored in the eighteenth century. The palace was later belonged to the family of Lancaster, whose characteristics are visible today in this building. From the initial structure, the building still has three domes with arches and a chapel with an altar in the Baroque style, dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. This building is now owned by the municipality of Paco de Arcos.

The Museum has a collection of vintage cars and bikes. The purpose of this museum is to illustrate the development and history of the car during the twentieth century .
