Kaufbeuren is a city in the German state of Bavaria. The city's location in the popular tourist district. It is situated at an altitude of averagely of 720 meters. Its area is 40 square kilometers. In the resort lived over 40.000 inhabitants four years ago. Things to do in Kaufbeuren are:

1. The Fünfknopfturm

The Fünfknopfturm

The Fünfknopfturm is a fortified tower in the city of Kaufbeuren. It is considered a landmark of the city. It was built in fifteen century. It was the seat of the municipal fire station in the Middle Ages. From the hill, people were warn about first signs of fire or other danger by a bell. Shield in the east facade can be seen.

3. Church of St. Trinity

Church of St. Trinity

The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Trinity is located at Kaiser-Max Street. It is the oldest Protestant church after reformation. The church was built in 1604 by expansion of older building on this site. Emperor Maximilian I adored this church during his visit King Ferdinand I came into the possession of parish church and he renovated it.

5. The Blasius chapel

The "Blasius chapel" first appeared in 1319 in a document. There was ancient parish church on the hill above it. Here lied castle of the nobles of Kaufbeuren. It is almost three meters high, consists stonework of blocks, which can be dated back at least to the 13th century.

St. Dominic is the oldest church in the city Kaufbeuren. It has Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque elements. There is a hospital church in near area too. It was erected by ruler Welf in 1182. Leprosenkapelle is constructed in the honor of leprose people who lived and died here. It is devoted to St. Dominic. The church was renovated in 15th century.

4. Church of St. Blaise

The late Gothic Church of St. Blaise stands next to the northwestern corner tower of the city's fortifications. It is located above the old town. It is one of the most important medieval monuments in this part of Germany.

6. The Isergebirgs museum

The Isergebirgs museum

The Isergebirgs museum is located in the heart of the town and it is dedicated to fate of the people that lived in this area. It was opened in 2000 and it is based on two previously shown collections of Gablonzer house. It has displays of Neugablonzer jewelery and Industrial Museum. The museum shows the topography of the mountain's life and of its cultural identity and its economic structure.
