Altrincham is a business town inside the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, in Greater Manchester, England. It lies south of the River Mersey around 8 miles southwest of Manchester downtown area, three miles south-southwest of Sale and ten miles east of Warrington. It had a populace of around 41,000 ten years ago. Altrincham was declared as a town in 1290. Exchange market was decreasing then.
